What decides what a baby will look like?

Babies have cells - 

• They get 50% of DNA from each of the parents, 

• The baby can look like the mum, but have the dads eyes or hair colour (or vice versa). 

• It could look like the mum or dad (not both)

• Adults have 100 trillion cells in them - babies have less cells than adults because they are smaller

• A man and a woman reproduce and make a baby. The woman carries the baby - this is called pregnancy. 

• How do you feed a baby in utero? 

• The mother needs to eat healthy foods which she digests. The nutrients go to the baby through the umbilical cord which is like a feeding tube. At the end of the pregnancy, the baby can tell the difference between different kinds of foods. 

I helped Mariah with her project. They used to cut their hair to make clothes, and they go into the showers and they suffocate and die. They are Jewish people and they got bullied by Hitler. 

I know from Hope and Syraiah-Lee's one that there is a symbol called a swatzika that was used by the Nazi party. Its a bad symbol. 

Kordell's cloning

 Cloning and de-extinction, cloning is when you print the same exact thing as what you're copying, de-extinction is when you're trying to copy something that is already dead.

I agree with cloning because it could help take away all the young years and you could be an adult straight away. You can also copy cows and other meat to make sure they are all the same meat wise, more milk production, more lean meat or more fattier. With cloning you also can make two of you so you can do all your jobs in half the time. If you clone also you will never run out of meat and you will have more fur to use for clothes. De-extinction will be cool too because then I could see a real dinosaur in real life not just in books or movies. Also if you do bring dinosaurs back to life you people might start hunting them again and make them extinct again or they could try to use them to kill their enemies. 

The reasons why I wouldn’t agree with cloning and de-extinction is because it might stuff up our ecosystem, meaning that we do not know how the species will act or behave if they are brought back. The animals will either kill everything else or might get killed by other predators. Also the cost to actually attempt to clone something would be really expensive and there is no guarantee that it will work. Also a lot of people are against trying to clone versus actually trying to protect the species that are still alive. 

Cloning has always happened naturally with identical twins when an embryo splits into two or more. This is not the case with normal twins as the process is different.

Kordells athletics

 Last Friday there was athletics there was Benghazi, Alamein,Tripoli and Tobruk. These are the four houses of our school and they are named after the streets surrounding the school. I am in Benghazi, and we had shot putt, high jump, long jump and discus. I came 1st at long jump and discus and came 3rd in high jump. My favourite one was discus because I have a really good arm and technique for it. This year I finally figured out how to get my timing right for taking off on long jump and that's why I did really good. In high jump I surprised myself because last year I didn't even attempt it because I was too short.

Morning tea time I went to the shop with Havea, Chance and Mr J. I bought a drink for Havea and I and a pie to give me energy. When Morning tea was finished we had races, I only did two races which were the 75m and the 100m. I came fourth in the 75m race  because it was a shorter distance and came second to last in the 100m because it was too long and my legs were already tired from the first race. Then it was time for lunch and we had a mean feed of sausages and ice blocks that skids were selling for $1 and the sausages were $2. Lunchtime felt super long and we were playing with the soft foam pads, pretending they were swords and shields, while we were playing one of the junior kids( Stanley’s little sister) accidently got caught in the middle and got hurt, we stopped to make sure she was alright and once she stopped crying and her brother came to comfort her, we carried on playing.

 After lunch there was time for the finals for running and also the parent and teachers race that everyone was looking forward to.

The mums raced first and Grace’s mum won the race and then the teachers raced. We all were waiting to see James to run but instead he piggybacked Mr Roy and Mr Roy pretended that he was on a race horse, everyone was laughing and we had a good day. I enjoyed Athletics this year because I got to have fun and eat heaps with all my mates.

Kordell's Microscope Experience

The first slide I looked at some cell veins. The cell veins looked like the inside of your eye but it had heaps of veins going through it. The colour of the veins were not too dark but more a light blue, red and brown. The second slide I looked at was a hairy cockroach leg. There was heaps of little hair and long hairs and the colour was brown. It was very small, tinier then a strand of hair. The third slide was a bee sting. The bee sting was very tiny and had heaps of hair and was dark yellow but could easily be mistaken for brown. It was very pointy on one end and on the other it was straight edged, it also had puss still connected to the stinger. The last slide was from onion roots. it didn't have too much detail apart from a cluster of purple dots.

1) How many chromosomes do human beings have in their cells??=

23 cells and 46 cells in total.

2)How many chromosomes do monkeys usually have in their cells? Monkeys have 48 chromosomes in their body. This number of chromosomes is greater than two of human chromosomes.

3) is it genes that hold chromosomes that hold genes? Which is right?

Chromosomes hold genes because chromosomes have some DNA in it.

GENOMICS is the study of cells that make up the body.

Humans have 22 sets of chromosomes which are made up of A, C, G and T bases. These are in different combinations which change =your physical appearance/characteristics.

Humans and monkeys have a lot of similarities. We are both mammals. So that means we are both warm blooded which means we both need to stay warm or else =we can freeze to death, but other animals like snakes sharks etc are cold blooded also mammals are the only things that can sweat so we can die from overheating. Monkeys and humans also have opposable thumbs which means we can use our thumbs for tools like utensils. Monkeys generally have 48 chromosomes. This number of chromosomes is greater than the number passed by humans by two.

We both also communicate in our own languages monkeys speak in their own language and humans speak in their own. Humans are carnivores and monkeys. They both have shelter/home like monkeys live in the zoo and humans have home. Humans and monkeys are both primates. Chimpanzees are genetically closest to humans, and in fact, chimpanzees share about 98.6% of our DNA. Monkeys and humans know how to speak sign language. And monkeys can hug/high five/run just like humans. Humans and monkeys are omnivore. They both eat bananas just like humans, but humans eat steak and meat.

Monkeys and Humans are the same but there are some differences between them.

 Humans lifespan is 82yrs and Apes lifespan are 39yrs. Gorilla Lifespan is 35 to 40yrs and champagne lifespan are 39yrs. Mammals are warm blooded like humans and monkeys and cold blooded are animals like fish/sharks/turtles and penguins.  Humans are carnivores which means that they eat meat. If they are carnivores they have sharp teeth to cut the meat. Lots of monkeys are carnivores too. In addition there are monkeys and humans that are vegetarian which mean that they only eat vegetables.

      A Homosapien is an old name for Humans.

      A primate is a eutherian mammal for short monkeys.the chief bishop or

      The difference is monkeys can't talk and Humans can.

       It means a homosexual man

I would like to have a truck driver licence.

I would have to do attest and paperwork. They earn between $32,000 and $67,000 a year.

I will wake up at 6, come back at 5 and make me something to eat and play the game at 9 and then go back to sleep.

My dad works at spark arena and I would like to work with him.

circus

There were two clowns Railey and Davlyn.

Davlyn and Railey are very scary clowns. They creep people out by staring at people and giving them frights. They had blood on their face, coming from their nose and mouth. They had no teeth. They both had massive bald patches at the front of their head. They had hair around the back, so they looked like an old man. They had very big clown shoes and they were in clown suits with blood all over it too. They run at kids randomly to scare them.

 Every time a kid comes close, they chuck rocks at them on purpose (but the kid thinks it was an accident). The parents got sick of Railey and Davlyn throwing rocks at their children, because some children got injured very very badly. So the parents started to chuck rocks at the clowns. The clowns got sick of it. The parents kept throwing stones, until they were stoned to death. The other people in the circus, like actors, ran away because they were scared of the parents.

 The actors made their own new circus, and it was better than Railey and Davlyn’s circus. Their names were Saia and Isi. They have nice clean clown outfits on with rainbow coloured afros, face paints and red noses. Saia juggled bowling pins and Isi made balloon animals like a dog and a monkey. It was a happy circus and they liked to juggle and show tricks to kids. The actors gave out popcorn, drinks, hot dogs and balloon animals to the audience. They put on funny shows and they liked it so they got more and more people to join their circus. 

They made the audience laugh when they picked their noses. They made people happy by doing tricks on stilts. They walked on the tightrope. It was very high up. If they fell, they would be caught by a net. They danced to silly songs. Sometimes they liked to act angry at each other and the parents laughed and the kids don’t get it. They took a 15 minute break and they were playing music for the audience and some of them left to get some more popcorn, drinks and food from the food trucks outside. They swung on trapeze and did tricks like a backflip, frontflip and swinging from side to side, letting go and catching the other trapeze. 

At the end of the day after the show is over, the audience cheered for them and they all started to leave the tent. They got in their cars and left. Buses came to pick up the circus performers but before they left, they had to clean up. There was a lot of popcorn on the ground and there was pieces of balloons everywhere and when they all left they had Burger King for dinner.

My story

The story is about 4 boys 

The boys named are  Kordell Devlin Riley and Wesley And they were on their way to Antarctica.

When we were on our way to Mount Everest Wesley was hungry so he grabbed a cheeseburger out of his bag and he wasn't looking and he slipped into the water and after that when we were walking along we or started to see him fall in the water. We saw him fall in, but we couldn’t get him out because we might fall in ourselves. He froze in the cold cold water and we were very sad. We said a little prayer, and promised him ‘we will get to the top for you’. 

We started to carry on and then there was a polar bear. Kordell and Riley started running and Devlin didn't know, so he got Chased by the polar bear. He slipped and couldn’t get up in time. While the polar bear was eating him, Kordell and Railey ran away quickly. He got eaten and we were too scared to run back so we kept on running until we got to Mount Everest. We were disappointed in the polar bear, but we kept on going.

When kordell and Riley started to climb the mountain they were halfway done and then Riley slipped. He fell, and because KOrdell and Railey were tied together with rope, Railey was dangling and was un-conscious so Kordell had to sadly cut the rope and Railey fell to his death. KOrdell made it to Mount Everest at the top and he was really happy and then he climbed back down safely and he went back home.

He called the helicopters and they got the three bodies out so he went to the funerals and he was very sad especially the parents.
